If Picasso Painted the Easter Bunny
Saturday, April 12, 2025
10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Cost: $40 nonmember / $32 member
Instructor: “Miss Debbie” Hoffman
Hop into this class where young artists will create silly bunnies in the cubist-style of Pablo Picasso.
Children will learn about the artist Picasso, as well as the art movement, Cubism. Cubism breaks down a picture or idea into pieces, angles, or cubes. Picasso co-invented the style of Cubism and once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when we grow up.”
Children will also enjoy making a spring silhouette creation and spin-art Easter eggs.
Second Saturday - Toddler Time - ages 1.5-3 years
Elmer the Elephant Meets Kandinsky
Saturday, May 10, 2025
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Cost: $30 nonmember / $24 member
Instructor: “Miss Debbie” Hoffman
Little artists and a special adult will create everyone’s favorite patchwork elephant in the abstract style of the artist Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky is one of the pioneers of abstract art. Our littlest artists will learn about the artist who could “hear colors” and explore lines, shapes, colors, and concentric circles.
Come celebrate Elmer’s and Kandinsky’s unique look and create other masterpieces like “circle art.” The class will tour the Waterworks new exhibit that includes paintings by Kandinsky.
Prompted with the same theme and materials, multi-generational ARTmaking at Waterworks allows families to create together.
Our community adapts to life’s challenges, and as always,
ART always makes it better!
