Waterworks Visual Arts Center strives to offer artists a place to share their work.  Three professional exhibitions are presented each year featuring contemporary artists.  Artists are chosen from submissions received by Waterworks.

Part-Time Art Teacher 
Salisbury Academy, Salisbury, NC



Salisbury Academy is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and student-centered art teacher who will inspire and instill a love of learning in students. We seek an educator who is skillful in designing hands-on experiences and utilizes a student-centered model to implement projects, oversee learning, and recognize moments to engage students in growing as learners, thinkers, and collaborators. Candidates should be skillful in the use of diverse teaching strategies and modes of assessment and be able to manage groups, interpret data, assess, organize, plan, and clearly communicate. A degree in the field and 3-5 years of teaching experience is preferred. The Art Teacher is responsible for carrying out a visual arts education program consistent with Salisbury Academy's mission statement, maintaining a high level of professionalism and support of the school at all times. 

Responsibilities: 

 Instruction of art curriculum for grades K-8 
 Maintenance of Art equipment and organization of supplies 
 Ordering and planning for supplies 
 Integration of art curriculum with LS/MS programs 
 Display of art, both in school and in the community
 Preparation of daily classes for a quality program with setup and cleanup each day. Each grade level requires a different set of materials. 
 Attendance at faculty meetings 
 Attendance at conferences as needed 
 Teach Middle School art exploratory class 

Qualifications: 

 Bachelor’s degree required 
 Minimum of three years teaching experience in classroom art 
 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
