COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Waterworks' outreach programs are offered throughout the Salisbury-Rowan area in partnership with the City of Salisbury, Rowan County, Rowan-Salisbury Schools, and area non-profit organizations.  The museum is at the forefront of cultural stewardship in the community, offering unique exhibitions that demonstrate a broad spectrum of ideas and materials and techniques. However, our educational programs extend beyond the gallery walls.

Waterworks offers outreach programs for targeted audiences that include: area public, independent and home schools; area colleges and universities; artists and artist associations; and, organizations that support early childhood programs, the developmentally and physically disabled, at-risk youth and teens, adult seniors, and a variety of community groups.  Community outreach programs of the Waterworks are supported in part through the National Starch & Chemical Foundation and the Rowan Arts Council through Grassroots funding made possible by the North Carolina Arts Council.
