WVAC along with the Rowan County Parks & Recreation, provided an opportunity for students to participate in a weeklong Art, Music and Movement camp.
WVAC works with Rowan-Salisbury Schools (RSS) to provide ARTstop programs that include a tour of Waterworks’ facility and a hands-on project for all RSS 5th grade students. ARTstop projects are based on one of the following themes: 12-object design, contrast design, foreshortening, Picasso-style self-portraits, pop art, or surrealism. ARTstop satisfies eight of the goals of the NC Common Core Curriculum for visual arts and is part of the curriculum for all RSS 5th grade classes.
WVAC partners with Rowan County Parks & Recreation to provide art classes for disabled/behaviorally challenged adults and youth during the fall and spring months.
WVAC hosts the annual Student Exhibition of Artwork. This special exhibition features artwork created by students in private, independent and home schools, and public elementary, middle, and high schools in Salisbury-Rowan County. This exhibition is a outreach program that celebrates the outstanding efforts of the art specialists who teach the creative process, as well showcasing the extraordinatry talents of Rowan County's youth.
WVAC is very proud to be able to continue its outreach efforts with Trinity Living Center, hosting an annual exhibition and reception for “The Faces of Abundant Living”, which is an awareness effort for the facility. They offer a variety of services for local disabled and elderly adults
